Lila Palmer is a soprano, writer & actress. Theatre credits include Abigail in The Crucible, Viola in the immersive musical Twelfth Night, Polly Peachum in Threepenny Opera and the title role in Hedda Gabler. Her operatic roles have included Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro, Ghosts of Versailles), Rose Maybud (Ruddigore) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). Most recently she created the role of Hortense Schneider in Bouffe!, the biopic of the Parisian actress and muse to Jacques Offenbach. She was a member of ENO’s Operaworks Ensemble 2013/4. An alumnus of New England Conservatory, Cambridge University, Aspen Opera Theatre Centre & the Vancouver International Song Festival, Lila is currently enrolled as a librettist in the Opera Makers program created by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Royal Opera House. She has collaborated extensively with Emmy award-nominated composer Daniel Bernard Roumain and was a founder member of the musical not-for-profit The Sounding Board, a social-justice production and commissioning organisation. Future plans include the title role in Iolanthe and the role of Dr. Kindred in the Sci-Fi series Naomi Indigo. Harbour – her first opera written with composer Charlie Flinn Barker – premiers at the Barbican in July 2016.
