We'll See Whales from the Terrace

We'll See Whales from the Terrace is a contemporary drama spanning three generations and nearly seventy years. It weaves a powerful analogy between the melting of the Arctic ice caps and the increasing vulnerability of human bonds.

The play unfolds across three interwoven timelines:

  • 1998: Sara, a brilliant scientist, discovers a revolutionary method for carbon sequestration through biomineralization. However, her breakthrough poses a direct threat to powerful global industries.

  • 2024: Max—son of Sara and Oriol—is a marine biologist studying how climate change alters whale migration patterns. He is in a relationship with Andy, a young man who exposes Max’s inability to live authentically in his professional and social life.

  • 2064: An elderly Maximilian (Max at 78) lives in France, where he receives a visit from his daughter, Emma. In a world reshaped by flooding and the loss of biodiversity, father and daughter attempt to piece together their shared past.

The project explores the intersection between the global climate crisis and individual identity crises, serving as a poignant call for sincerity before the shifting tides and climate make us disappear forever.
